Service Description
Location The area around Avebury offers unparalleled opportunities for photographic locations. As well as the Avebury complex itself there are many other areas that we will visit and these include Silbury Hill, West Kennett Longbarrow, Devils' Den and Swallow Head Springs. I know the area extremely well and I will share my extensive knowledge of each place during our day Who is it for? If you are interested in sacred and spiritual sites and want to find our more about our Neolithic ancestors this photography tour is ideal for you. All levels are welcome, whether you are a beginner or an experienced photographer. However, you do need to have a basic understanding of the functions of your camera. In terms of cameras and equipment, just bring your normal camera and lenses, tripods are optional. Itinerary We shall meet at the National Trust car park at Avebury. We will do some short introductions and then spend some time at the Avebury Stone Circle as well as visiting The Avenue, which is one of the main gateways to Avebury. From there we will walk to one of my favourite locations to photograph Silbury Hill. We will also visit West Kennett Long Barrow as well as having a different perspective of Silbury Hill. There are numerous other nearby locations that are quite special and I will share these with you during the day. Additional information Car Parking will be free if you are a National Trust Member but if you are a non-member there is a fee. We will be flexible in terms of transport, we will walk when we can but a journey in the car is necessary for some of the locations (depending on your fitness). Transport is in your own car.
